My work ”Swimming Pool” is about the swimming pool as a metaphor. I was thinking if it could be something more
than just an open container filled with water. I came to the conclusion that it could be a metaphor for something calm,
dreamy and nice. And maybe a getaway? At the same time it is also a work about tactility and the textile craft and
how the making of it has a meditative and calming effect.
About the artist
I see my work as a combination of great craftsmanship and easily digested themes. I appreciate the simple things
around me and I like to give the ordinary the attention it deserves. I believe that you can find interesting things in
everything, you just have to scratch a little on the surface, and that’s what I like to do.
As a textile artist, I work with patchwork, quilting, embroidery, dyeing and textile screen printing. I work a lot with
curved piecing in patchwork, a technique that gives the textile surface movement and makes my mind and hands
excited. Material, technique and having fun is very important for me!
