The photograph is of the aperture blades of a camera lens and was shot by the same camera itself.
A camera with a macro lens was set up very close to a special high grade first surface mirror, usually used inside telescopes and cameras. As the shutter opens; light that bounces between the lens and the mirror floods in to the dark chamber of the camera and hits the sensor. The dark hole seen in the photograph is that hole wich the light that made the photograph came through. The photograph is of the image in the mirror. An image of an image of and image being taken.
