Jennifer Myerscough
Model, 2016
Jennifer Myerscough is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work is rooted in painting. Her practice is process based, which she calls “thinking by painting.” In her studio, she translates between 2D, 3D and time-based media, focusing on what is gained and lost in the translation. Her work is a way of thinking through perception, dimensions, spaces and time. Born in Stockholm and raised in Southern California, she has recently completed her Master's Degree from Umeå Academy of Fine Arts.
Model is a sight specific piece, installed to be viewed from different distances. From far away, the installation expresses the illusion of the necker cube. Up close, the illusion collapses as its form expands, admitting its simple materials.
