Tero Niskanen

Tero Niskanen is a visual artist and a experimental musician based in Helsinki, Finland. He started his artistic practice by making improvised music in the beginning of the millennium. Now he has discography of over thirty releases. He has also been working with photography, installation, sound art and video. Tero is interested in colliding different tactics, mediums and systems. He loves exploration and surrendering to play.
In Finnish language the word for chance "sattuma" is related to word hurt "sattua". Chance exposes us to change and the experience can be painful. Tero's work strives to be imprecise in order to reach the particularity of the phenomenon. Recent topics of his artistic research have been the relationship between light and sound, co-operation of incompatible systems, narratives in sound effects and artificial intelligence photo processing.
