The aim of this work is to explore potential design expressions when dressing a deformed body, using the transformational reconstruction technique. The idea is furthermore to emphasize the technical aspect of the construction technique as well as opening up for unconventional bodies in the field of fashion. The final result is presented in one artistic and one commercial version.

About the artist

Hedvig Ljungström is currently in her final year of the bachelor's degree programme in Fashion Design at The Swedish School of Textiles. Her work could be described as playful and experimental, as she is always eager to investigate and explore new possibilities within the field of design. Colour and shape are important features in her work and the materials brought into the designs highlight the silhouette of the pieces.

The fascination for fashion has always been a part of Hedvigs' life and during her education she continues to investigate the relation between fashion, art, body, and dress. The aim of her designs are therefore not only to make the wearer (and viewer) smile, but also to use the power of fashion to start a conversation.
