As a professional dancer, Gesine Moog is inspired by spacial geometries and patterns of movements. How do we see and receive our environment? Even in a simple routined day by day move, sounds of an escalator on the way to work or seeing herself as part of a total, can mean a composition to her. Mean while she is exploring and composing the different elements, her practise is to listen and to be leaded by her intuition in the present.
“The dancing body, a fragile archive under constant motion of change, is in dialog with it's environment. My history of dance is writing my body and sculpturing the decision making on my dancing today. The impulse of daily live is the rhythm of our dance.
The reality of dance evaporates. The dance always written new, like a Palimpsest, here then gone, evaporating, vanish.
Art contemplate our existence and reflects what is meaningful to us today and in the same time it has to take the risk, to be not meaningful. There are no guarantees of anything important beyond tomorrow. I have to believe in what I am doing and therefore I believe spaces need to be flexible and open for changes. To do so it seems it has to almost destroy it's own environment sometimes, in order for it to become off the leash.”
