The "eye of the beholder" is a moving sculpture, a machine. The work consists of an oversized eyeball that slowly moves back and forth, looking out. We are standing on the outside, looking in, but on the inside, there is something bigger than us who looks back. From being the ones who look, we are now the ones who are looked at and our gaze is turned towards ourselves.

About the artist

Born 1980 in Stockholm, educated at Capellagården and Konstfack, among others. Since 2017 I live and work on Öland where I also teach ceramics at Capellagården.

With clay and ceramics as material, I try to investigate and question with a mixture of humor and seriousness. Pictures from comic books, shapes from the world of toys and archetypes from art history: everything is kneaded in my head together with my own experiences and then shaped by my hands when I tenderly portray life's shortcomings.
